About this site

What this site is, what it deliberately refuses to do, and where the explanations come from.

IndexCrypto is a reference site about how cryptocurrency works at the level that matters when something is about to go wrong: keys, signatures, approvals, fees and tax treatment. It is written for someone who already holds crypto, or is about to, and wants to understand the screen in front of them.

What it will not do

No prices, market data or predictions. No coin is recommended, rated or described as promising. No trust scores and no security ratings — assessing whether a project is safe takes work this site does not do, and publishing a confident score derived from nothing is precisely the thing that persuades someone to connect a wallet they should not have connected.

Where a check is worth making, the page explains how to make it yourself against a block explorer or an approval checker. A reader who can verify a contract address is better served than one handed a number to trust.

On tax

Tax pages describe concepts and the events that generally trigger a liability. They do not state rates and they do not resolve questions that differ by country, because a page that pretended the answer was universal would be wrong for most people reading it. Several areas — staking rewards in particular — remain genuinely unsettled, and pages say so instead of picking a side.

How pages are written

Explanation before instruction, and no claim of having tested anything. Nothing here is written from personal trading, and the site does not describe experiences it did not have.

Money

The site currently carries no advertising and no affiliate links. If that changes, this page will say so before any link appears, and every commercial link will be marked where it appears rather than disclosed only here.
